228 Engine 1 is a 2004 Pierce Quantum Rear Mount CAFS Pumper. This engine is housed at our Main Station 1 and is the departments front line responding pumper. Listed below are some of the features and equipment on this apparatus:
- Five man enclosed cab; 4 MSA 4500 SCBA units
- 1500 GPM Waterous pedestal pump
- Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS)
- Pierce Husky 10 foam system
- 720 gallon water tank
- 30 class A foam cell
- 1500 feet of 5 inch supply hose
- 9000 watt light tower
- Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC), CO meter and heat detection gun
- 150 feet hoseline hi-rise pack
- Amkus combination spreader and cutter rescue tool
- AED
